AU REVOIR TO THOSE WHO ONCE WERE WITH US

This is the time of year to look back over 2006 and especially to remember the loved one that left us during the past 12 months. We’ve lost a few famous people too including recently Charlie Drake (I used to love the start of My boomerang won’t come back – a now very un-pc song of way back before my time-no, honest) and the man who lived opposite him in the retirement home, the great Alan Fluff Freeman (”not ‘alf”).The tragic death of Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter and Syd Barrett, formerly of Pink Floyd who had lived not too far away from us in Cambridge since the onset of his mental illness. I wish them and all the others who have left their earthly shells behind best wishes in their ongoing journey to whatever comes after this physical life.
