The archetypal British upper class cad in films of the 50′s and 60′s, Terry -Thomas (1911-1990) became the comedic reference point for eccentric upper class cheating incompetents. He was also the template for the Dick Dastardly cartoon character in Wacky races and stop the pigeon (which has a similar premise to Those magnificent men in their flying machines).
