To mark the 4oth anniversary of The Beatles Sgt Pepper’ Lonely Hearts Club Band album a clutch
of modern day British groups are to record their own versions of some of the tracks recorded on the original 4 track studio equipment. The Kaiser Chiefs, James Morrison,Oasis (maybe they’ll finally get round to sounding like their idols at last) The Fratellis and Travis are amongst those lined up for the venture which will be aired on the actually anniversary of the release of the original album on June 1st. Personally I usually abhor thee sort of crass attempts to cash in on the past though covers of classic songs can be an amusing and sometimes embarrassing cul-de-sac where respected bands can lose their cool factor momentarily as they struggle with a mismatch of song and vocal style. We will see come June 2nd when these sessions will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2.

Oh my gosh, I’m old. Sgt Pepper is only a few days older than me. Ugh.
Hi Sher
Thirty-ten, it’s only thirty-ten really (I’ve always thought there should be a few extra years in your 30′s).
