Shed

never mind shed-boat-shed, how about shed-house-shed. The idea of low cost prefab sheds and modular living areas could well catch on as house prices reach ridiculous

levels. All we need is to reclaim some land from somewhere (I bags the luxuriously planted roundabout quite near here). I do love the way some of the publicity shots for these things show them placed in beautifully remote locations as if we can all just build by some lake somewhere. Annoyingly some of these prefabs look quite spacious and a tad a better build quality than the rabbit hutch we currently live in.

I hear that Ikea sells a range of flat-packed homes in the UK called BoKloks which translates as ‘live-smart’.

Like many UK towns there were prefabs built here during the second world war that still stand though these tin houses have recently been upgraded with a cladding but shows how homes that were designed to be temporary can last a long time.

Some UK specific modern prefab offerings: m-house , first penthouse , retreat homes
