Personalisation seems the name of the game out there on the Internet with many web pages and sites attempting to allow personalisations and customisation. Google’s personalised home page, now rebranded as iGoogle (isn’t that i stuff a little bit passe now?) now allows themes which I’ve just had a play around with. If you add your location it tries to match the colour tone of the theme with the weather outside your door. I’ll be looking at a lot of grey tones then.

iGoogle just rox, I never used to actually use the Google reader or something like that to read the feeds and that kind of stuff, now I have to see just one page for reading all my interests ^^
Greetings, from Chile
Hello Sakyr and hello Chille – Yes, I’m a big Google reader user too as well as Google Docs. iGoogle could do with a few more themes than currently on offer but no doubt they will come in time.
I’m still waiting for some new themes for iGoogle! I’m surprised they’ve limited themselves to so few….
Hello Rax-it’s hardly an extensive list is it. Sometimes Google seem to do a few things half heartedly like this and newsgroups, web pages which never seem to get pushed much. The themes seem a bit of an afterthought with no real intent to include more. I wait to be pleasantly surprised.
really excellent one but always i prefer pageflakes.
thanks

Stuff(em) replied: Hello OpenGiga- both pageflakes and netvibes have some good features as does iGoogle. Now all we want is the best of pageflakes, iGoogle, netvibes and facebook and we’ll all be happy.
Yeah I was just searching and trying to find an alternitive to the either too feminine or boring colors of the igoogle themes.
The whole idea of changing the colors to the time of day and season is a great idea,
In due time im sure there will be plenty available…

Stuff(Em) replied: Hi Frank, I’m sure more themes will come in time.It just takes Google time to sort things out.
I had a gadget that would allow me to change the themes to many more choices. I accidentally closed the gadget and now I cannot locate it again.
My favorite was one designed by Giger.
If I happen to find them again, I will come back here and repost.
If you hadn’t seen it already, check out this iGoogle gadget for more theme options or skinning your own theme. Pretty cool.

Rob,
Thank you for the post! That was the gadget I was looking for. I could not find that at all.
Again, thank you very much!

Hi. I hate the theme on my igoogle home page. Once selected, it seems impossible to undo it. Do you know of a way I can get back the google standard search page or creat a new home page without their graphic? I tried the “crteate you own on this page but wound up with a slide show! thanks.

Stuff(Em) replied: Just choose ‘classic home’ which is top right of the page near your email address to return to a standard google search page or choose classic from the themes if you still want to retain all your widgets.
