Michael Nyman Interview part 1

More Systems Music, this time from Michael Nyman during his minimalist period. I’ve kept some of theNyman music in because some of the pieces are quite rare or never saw the light of day on either vinyl or CD and relate to the interview. Sadly a combination of a very poorly preserved tape (thanks 3M) ,poorly recorded original and even skipping vinyl during the original broadcast combine to make some of this a bit rough around the edges but if, like me, systems music floats your boat then these faults are worth enduring.

Mr Nyman was responsible for one of the more memorable concerts I attended at the Royal Festival Hall (or was it the Queen Elizabeth Hall?) some years ago which featured The Michael Nyman Band.

Reference is made to Mr Nyman’s contribution to the wonderful Hands 2 Take from The Flying Lizards Fourth Wall album which I had on vinyl for years and is now very hard to get hold of.
