Another desperate flail around the supermarket brought only one tune from the tannoy within my listening reach which was Tom Robinson’s 2-4-6-8 Motorway. Otherwise there seemed more than the usual dour faces in the store. Monday is predominantly young Mums day (myself excepted but including the late 30′s and early 40′s with young kids too)). The drained mother behind me in the checkout queue was tolerating her two cherubs and the young boy keenly asked “Can I pay for this?”. I turned to his mother and said “He can pay for mine too if he’s offering” but illicited only a weak smile from his Mum’s tired and exhausted face.
Welcome to Monday.
