Ah nostalgia for the audio formats of my formative years…
It’s a cassette shaped MP3 player that takes an SD memory card and can be played directly or placed in a good old fashioned cassette player too. Now where’s my authentic 1980′s boom box with twin cassette and vertical turntable…(If only, I never had one but remember a ‘posse’ who used to hang around the local shopping centre who had one. Very analogue OTT).

I’m a bit(!) of an avid listener to radio from around the world so this seems quite a good price for an Internet radio (or are they getting cheaper at last?).

A package arrived this morning which contained an affordable replacement optical mouse for our computer and an el cheapo (but quite good) mp3 player and SD card reader.
I bought the mp3 player as basically I needed an SD card reader/writer so I could transfer recordings and time shifted net radio recordings from our computer for playing back on our DAB radio that accepts SD memory cards and as the player was the same price as many card readers (£8) I thought ‘ooh a multi function device’ and obviously couldn’t resist.
Sadly the supplied manual has lost something in the translation:

Sorry but I have a real penchant for ridiculous multi-function devices. this one is not quite as ridiculous as a fax-toaster-mini bar but goes some way to bringing together three seemingly unrelated functions in being a USB hub, alarm clock and letter opener.For quirkiness alone I salute and commend it.
Yet another way to make a cup of tea. This slightly pricey but innovative kettle and water filter solution brings
the water to near boiling point in around 3 seconds and claims to be eco friendly into the bargain.
The makers, Tefal claim the new kettle will save an average household around £30 a year in energy costs and is a 65% energy consumption reduction compared to a normal style kettle. The dispenser can equally produce cold filtered water too.
