I woke up with this decidedly old school art rock ditty stuck in my head again. It was the swift follow up to their very successful reworking of Money.

I believe that Deborah Evans-Stickland became a psychotherapist but has from time to time stepped back into the music limelight.She contributed to a Richard X album a while back and only this year she reprised her Money vocals as part of  The Steampunk Opium Wars project.

Random memories of suicidal ducks

For some reason an old episode of Tom & Jerry has popped into my head. It’s the one with the suicidal baby duckling. Jerry has his/her(?) work cut out as the duckling keeps wandering off to kill itself or to Tom the cat emploring him to “eat me”.

Quite disturbing when I think about it now. Not sure why it popped into my head. An analogy for our modern day obsession with appearance? A searing insight into duckling mental health problems?

Classic Ealing Films Restored To High Definition

To celebrate 80 years of Ealing three of the studios classic films ;The Lavender Hill Mob, Kind Hearts And Coronets and Whisky Galore have now been digitally restored in a process that has removed dust, scratches and distortions and enabled transfer to high definition which will include being released on Blu Ray format.
