It’s been a very long time since I’ve heard this but the simplistic words popped into my head out of nowhere (they can all too easily be re-applied to world events today rather than the Britain of the so-called winter of discontent of ’78-’79).
After waking up a few days ago with ‘where’s Captain Kirk’ pinging around my inner mental jukebox and being put in mind of a few other quirky vintage recording in a similar genre pulled from the depths of my memory it was a pleasure to run into one of my previous mentions whilst transferring some old analogue recordings. Edward Fox by Manchester group Smack was a gloriously off the wall item in which a supposed article and interview with the actor is read out almost verbatim and which reminds us of quite how intriguing Mr Fox’s thoughts were at that time.

The trouble with sifting through old audio tapes whether your own or originally somebody elses is that sometimes you can be totally slowed down by discovering or rediscovering a flost classic or forgotten favourite. Hence this track is now on an endless loop in my mind.
