My first meagre return to some binaural audio recording (headphones required) for very many years (the last attempts were very much back in ye olde analogue days of yore). This is (honest) the sound of a running tap filling the bathroom sink (riveting stuff I know). Once I figure out how to provide decent wind noise protection I expect I’ll try a few recordings out and about.

Ice cream for crow
This is a brief audio slice of a few minutes worth of Friday evening in the suburbs as an ice cream van arrives at speed and with great noise to briefly ply its trade to the young and young at heart before speeding off (hey, mind that child) whilst playing the highly distorted version of ‘O Solo Mio‘ or ‘just one cornetto’ depending on your point of reference. There’s a bit more to take in on headphones.
Not the best ice cream van tune I’ve ever heard. when we lived in Sydney, Australia the local ice cream van played a manic version of ‘Red river valley’.
I’m trying to get back to making some binaural audio recordings which I can’t say I’ve done much in the digital domain to date.
AAC+ encoded version
For those unable to stream the 2.9MB mp3 file there is a smaller sized (664k) but equally high quality AAC+ encoded version* available here.
(*AAC+ audio files require this Plugin(Win) or a compatible player such as Songbird (Win,Mac,Linux), VLC(Win,Mac,Linux)or Winamp(Win) however Quicktime and i-Tunes will play file at half the audio bandwidth and in mono only)
