Caught a bit of Jeremy Vine on BBC Radio 2 just as he read out a comment seemingly Brexit orientated…
“If you like Europe so much then why don’t you go and live there.”
Very middle England.
It’s hard to believe that people actually say things like this. Apart from the fact that very soon many of us who would have liked to live there can’t because we won’t have the right thanks to Brexit, this kind of comment amuses me.
It’s akin to those slightly homophobic comments that genuinely go (and i’ve has this said to my face so not apocryphal…)
“These gay people are OK but why do they have to keep ramming it down our throats?”
The subtext is everything.
You have to laugh.
